5-27-21 VERMONT: Rain finally happened yesterday, accompanied with a little L & T, enough to upset Kaley. We got 0.3 inches. We need more, but it’s a start. Today is cool, windy and sunny. The wind keeps the bugs at bay.
Yesterday before the rain, I planted a hosta, Hosta x ‘Gold Standard’, in the old chimney bed, east side. Today I put two foxglove, Digitalis x mertonensis, in the new chimney bed by the French doors, and two blue flags, Iris versicolor ‘Purple Flame’, on the big pond bank NW corner.
I’ve also done a bunch of weeding and pruning. Some of the new blooms in this post were missed last post. That reporter is in danger of suspension.
New blooms: blueberry, bunchberry, burning bush, nannyberry viburnum, Siebold viburnum, dogwood, mountain maple, quince, celandine, sweet woodruff, geranium, star flower, flea bane, golden Alexander.
Google isn't accepting pix today. I'll try to post them tomorrow.
